President, STRIDES Holdings and Group Chief Data & Digital Transformation Officer
Mr Tan Peng Kuan, as President, STRIDES Holdings, is responsible for driving business growth strategies at SMRT Buses, as well as STRIDES Mobility. In his concurrent appointment as Group Chief Data & Digital Transformation Officer, Mr Tan will continue to lead efforts to build a cohesive Data & Digital community within SMRT Group.
Prior to his current appointments, Mr Tan held the appointment of President, Engineering, where he was responsible for providing leadership and oversight for all matters pertaining to raising and sustaining data, digital, technology and engineering capabilities, training and development, as well as procurement. Mr Tan joined SMRT in June 2021 as President, Strides Mobility Solutions before he took on the appointment as President, Engineering.
Mr Tan was with ST Engineering for five years prior to joining SMRT. During his tenure, he held several key leadership appointments in local and international commercial businesses. Prior to ST Engineering, he was with MINDEF and SAF for 27 years where he held several Command and Staff appointments which gave him valuable experience in supply chain management, maintenance and engineering, and transportation.
Mr Tan holds a Master of Engineering in Logistics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology as well as a Bachelor of Science (1st Class Honours) from Imperial College of Science and Technology.
