Ms Huang Weixian is the Group Chief Communications Officer of SMRT Corporation Ltd (SMRT), where she heads the Corporate Communications Division and serves as the Company's Chief Spokesperson. In her role, Ms Huang is the custodian of SMRT's reputation. She leads the Group's public communication strategy and oversees its execution across multiple channels and stakeholder groups. Her responsibilities include the development and delivery of the Company's public messaging, media relations, digital engagement and stakeholder communications.
Ms Huang joined SMRT in August 2024 as Head, Stakeholder & Internal Communications. In this capacity, she developed and implemented a comprehensive suite of internal communications and engagement strategies to strengthen leadership visibility and organisational alignment across the Group. With more than 25 years of experience in media and public communications, Ms Huang brings deep expertise across the public and media sectors. Prior to joining SMRT, she led the public communications and engagement directorate at the Smart Nation and Digital Government Group under the Prime Minister's Office. Earlier in her career, she spent decades with CNA as a current affairs executive producer and commissioning editor, specialising in both local and regional long-form documentaries.
Ms Huang holds a Master of Arts in Contemporary China and a Bachelor in Communication Studies (Honours) from the Nanyang Technological University.
