Mr Chia Ti Yu is the Group Chief Risk Officer and oversees the company’s risk management framework, ensuring that risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively. His focus is on advancing the company’s risk management strategies, ensuring robust governance, and fostering a culture of proactive risk management to support the company’s strategic objectives and safeguarding its long-term success in a dynamic business landscape.

Mr Chia has more than 25 years of experience in the Finance function in both government and private sectors. Prior to joining SMRT, he was the Director, Finance and concurrently Director, Administration in Singapore Food Agency (SFA) where he oversaw the Financial and Management Accounting and Reporting. During his stint, he re-negotiated and concluded contracts to achieve more than S$1 million savings. Prior to joining SFA, Mr Chia was Director, Finance, Systems and Projects in the Ministry of Finance where he managed the finance and procurement operations, as well as oversaw the WOG finance systems transformation. He was instrumental in the CUMULUS cloud ERP build-on for Workday platform. Apart from that, Mr Chia has experience in audit professional practice, corporate finance, and procurement. He also sits on the boards of a number of charities, advisory committees as well as voluntary welfare organisations. 

Mr Chia holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from Nanyang Technological University, and he is also a Singapore Chartered Accountant.
