Mr Yap Kim Wah sits on the Boards of SMRT Corporation Ltd, SMRT Trains Ltd, Strides Holdings Ltd and RTS Link Operations Pte. Ltd, a branch registered in Malaysia. In addition, he serves as the Chairman of Stellar Ace Pte Ltd  and Stellar Ace Outdoor Pte Ltd as well as the Vice Chairman of RTS Operations Pte Ltd. 

Mr Yap is a registered Professional Engineer and a Fellow Member of the Institution of Engineers, Singapore. On graduation, he joined Esso Singapore Pte Ltd working in the refinery as a Senior Project Engineer. And in 1975, he left to join Singapore Airlines till retirement, having achieved over 35 years’ experience in a range of Senior Management positions including Marketing, Cabin Crew, Human Resource, Regional Director West Asia & Africa and Chief Executive SATS Catering. He was the Chairman of the subsidiary company, Tradewinds Tours & Travel Pte Ltd and a Board Member of the Singapore Land Authority.

Mr Yap holds a First-Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering from the then University of Singapore and had attended the Houston University Executive Development Program and the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School.
