1. The Board of Directors of SMRT Corporation Ltd (the “Company”) wishes to announce the following senior management appointments and role changes.
Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer and
President, STRIDES International and Engineering
2. Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President, STRIDES International and Engineering, Mr Lee Ling Wee will step down from his current full-time role on 1 February 2026 to pursue personal interests. He will continue to serve as Advisor to the Group CEO, where he will continue to provide strategic guidance and expert advice to Management.
3. Mr Goh Eng Kiat will cover the role of President, STRIDES International, and Mr Ang Hang Guan will be covering as President, STRIDES Engineering. They will report to the Group CEO. SMRT will announce Ling Wee’s successor in due course.
4. Ling Wee has served SMRT with distinction for 12 years, first as President of SMRT Trains for seven years, before assuming the role of Deputy Group CEO and concurrently President, International, in 2020. In 2024, he also took on the role of President, Engineering. Throughout this period, he played a pivotal role in strengthening SMRT’s operational excellence, engineering capabilities, and international ventures.
5. Reflecting on his journey, Ling Wee shared: “I am deeply grateful to the Board and the Group CEO for their trust, guidance, and support over the years. I have been privileged to work alongside dedicated colleagues across the Group whose professionalism, teamwork and commitment have made our achievements possible. Our accomplishment has been very much a collective effort, and I thank the SMRT team for their dedication and camaraderie.”
6. SMRT Chairman, Mr Seah Moon Ming and SMRT Group CEO, Mr Ngien Hoon Ping would like to express their deepest appreciation to Ling Wee for his steady leadership, sound judgement, and unwavering commitment to developing people and capabilities across the Group. His contributions have been marked by a strong sense of teamwork and a deep dedication to SMRT’s mission of delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable transport for our communities.
7. The Board and Management of SMRT Corporation and SMRT Trains thank Ling Wee for his dedicated service and leadership and wish him every success in the next phase of his journey.
Group Chief Communications Officer
8. With effect from 1 January 2026, Ms Margaret Teo, Group Chief Communications Officer and Group Chief Sustainability Officer, will relinquish her role as Group Chief Communications Officer to focus on the company’s ESG and CSR agenda in her capacity as Group Chief Sustainability Officer.
9. As Group Chief Sustainability Officer, Margaret will continue to drive SMRT’s sustainability strategy and key initiatives, embedding sustainable practices that include Doing-good initiatives across operations, organisational culture, and business strategy.
10. Over the years, Margaret has demonstrated strong leadership and dedication, advanced our Corporate Communications efforts and strengthened SMRT’s reputation. The Board and Management thank her for her significant contributions and leadership in Corporate Communications and look forward to her continued impact as Group Chief Sustainability Officer.
11. Ms Huang Weixian will succeed Margaret as Group Chief Communications Officer. In this role, Weixian will oversee the development and execution of communication strategies and corporate branding to support the Company’s objectives.
12. Weixian joined SMRT in August 2024 as Head, Stakeholder & Internal Communications, where she led the development and implementation of a suite of communication and engagement strategies to enhance leadership visibility and organisational alignment. She will also be taking charge of internal communications for full alignment and coherence in SMRT’s overall communications outcomes.
