Early Closure and Late Opening of North-South Line Stations in August and September 2019

  1. To facilitate power supply system renewal and maintenance works along the North-South Line, SMRT will extend engineering hours with early closures and late openings of selected stations in August and September 2019.
     
  2. From 24 August to 1 September 2019, six stations between Bukit Batok and Marsiling will open later at about 8.00am on Saturdays and Sundays. From 6 to 28 September 2019, four stations between Bukit Batok and Yew Tee will close earlier at about 11.00pm on selected Fridays and Saturdays. The additional engineering hours will be used to carry out viaduct bearing replacement works and installation of 22kV cables as part of the power supply system renewal works.

Alternative Travel Arrangements

3. During these early closures and late openings, Shuttle Bus Service 4 will be available to maintain connectivity for commuters. The buses will stop at designated bus stops near the affected MRT stations to pick up and drop off passengers.

Commuters Advised to Plan Ahead

4. The timing of the last trains' departure from each station during the planned closures will vary. Commuters are advised to check the departure times at affected MRT stations, or on SMRT Trains’ website and social media platforms, in order to plan their journeys ahead of time. More time may also be needed to travel between MRT stations using the shuttle bus services.
 

5. SMRT will keep commuters updated on changes in train operation hours and alternative transport arrangements on SMRT’s Trains’ website, https://www.smrttrains.com.sg, as well as through SMRT’s Facebook, Twitter feed and the SMRTConnect app.
