FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Renewal works for Bukit Panjang LRT to be conducted

on Sundays in October

1.      To facilitate testing works for the introduction of the Bukit Panjang LRT’s (BPLRT) new signalling system, the BPLRT network will be closed on Sundays from 4th to 25th October 2020. Train service will operate as usual on the following Mondays.

2.      These works are part of the BPLRT’s overall renewal programme announced by the Land Transport Authority in 2018, where the current Fixed Block Signalling system would be upgraded to a new Communications-Based Train Control Signalling system. The Full-Sunday Closures will provide more engineering hours for testing of the signalling system software upgrades on the trains and trackside equipment.
