More Shuttle Bus Services to Support Shortened East-West Line Operational Hours from 2 March to 1 April 2018
1. Longer engineering hours will be extended to all 35 stations along the East-West Line (EWL) from Tuas Link to Pasir Ris and from Tanah Merah to Changi Airport from Friday, 2 March to Sunday, 1 April 2018. These stations will close earlier and open later on weekends and selected weekdays to allow more testing of the new Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) signalling system, as well as more engineering works to be carried out along the network.

More shuttle bus services during shortened hours
2. More shuttle bus services will be deployed along the EWL to provide an alternative means of transport for commuters when stations close earlier and open later from 2 March to 1 April 2018. Six shuttle bus services, Shuttles 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8, will run parallel to stretches of the EWL and stop at designated pick-up and drop-off points near MRT stations along the way. These include interchange stations where commuters can continue their journeys on other operating MRT lines.
3. In addition, four express bus services will also be deployed to complement the shuttle services. Express 5 and 12 will provide commuters with direct connections to the city area, and two new express bus services will be introduced to provide commuters with connection from the EWL to Downtown Line (DTL). Express 13 will bridge between Bedok and Bedok North for the eastern sector, and Express 15 will connect between Clementi and Beauty World for the western sector.

4. Information on train service timings during the early closure and late opening of MRT stations along the EWL, as well as details on the shuttle bus and express bus services, are in the Appendices attached.
Commuters are advised to cater for more travelling time and use alternative transport
5. Commuters are reminded to cater additional travel time when using the shuttle bus services. As the timing of the first and last departing train may vary from station to station, commuters are advised to check the respective timings before making their journey. Commuters travelling longer distances may wish to plan their journeys using other operational MRT lines, or seek alternative travel options, for a faster journey.
