President, SMRT Trains
Mr Lam Sheau Kai is responsible for SMRT’s Trains business and oversees all corporate and operational matters including engineering and maintenance for the North-South and East-West Lines, Circle Line, Thomson - East Coast Line and the Bukit Panjang Light Rail Transit.
Prior to joining SMRT, Mr Lam was with MSI-Global as Head Marketing and Business Development. Before MSI-Global, Mr Lam had a distinguished military service with Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) for over 30 years, retiring as the commander of combat service support/logistics. He joined the Institution of Engineers (IES) Singapore, and was a key proponent in building up maintenance and engineering capabilities, culminating in the setting up of integrated maintenance hubs in the SAF.
Mr Lam holds a Bachelor of Science (Economics) from London School of Economics, Master of Military Studies from United States Marine Corps University and Master of Engineering (Logistics, Materials and Supply Chain Management) from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
