| We drill our staff regularly on emergency procedures.
All station staff and train officers are trained
to respond effectively to an emergency in the
MRT system. There are regular scheduled exercises
between SMRT and safety and emergency agencies
to familiarise the emergency crews with the layout
and procedures that are required in any incident.
The exercises are normally held outside MRT service
hours to minimise inconvenience to the public. |

| You can help too |
| |
| You too have an important role in helping keep
the MRT system safe. If you come across violations
against safety, or notice any potentially unsafe
situation in the MRT system, we urge you to report
the incident to any member of our staff immediately.
|
| |
| In the event of an emergency, stay calm, listen
to the instructions of SMRT staff, and take care
of the elderly and children travelling with you.
|
| |
| To learn more about how you can help, sign-up
for the SMRT Community Emergency Preparedness
(SCEP) programme. This is a public awareness and
education programme designed to encourage and
train our community to play a more active and
effective role in enhancing safety and security
in the public transport system. |
