| At SMRT, security is at the forefront of our
business and operations. We take leadership in
security-related initiatives and measures, and
at the same time, promote personal ownership by
encouraging passengers to share ownership of security. |

| The SMRT Community Emergency Preparedness (SCEP)
programme is a public awareness and education
programme designed to encourage and train our
community to play a more active and effective
role in enhancing safety and security in the public
transport system. |

| The SCEP is the first integrated transport security
training programme by a public transport service
provider and is developed as a 3P partnership
(Private-Public-People), in close collaboration
with the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Home
Team departments and Land Transport Authority.
Through this programme, we hope to reach out to
educational institutions, private organisations
and voluntary groups to recruit over 3,500 participants
each year. |
