Corporate Governance

The SMRT Group is fully committed to continually raising the standard of corporate governance and to building a respected, trusted and transparent organisation with sound policies, practices and internal controls.

Our efforts in pursuit of good corporate governance were recognised at the Securities Investors Association of Singapore Investors' Choice Awards 2007 where we were awarded second place for Corporate Governance. The Group business ethos is also reflected in the high levels of corporate transparency within our organisation and the quality of our shareholder communication. These attributes were recognised at the Business Times Corporate Transparency Index (BT-CTI) 2007 where SMRT Corporation Ltd was ranked among the top ten listed companies surveyed. As a further recognition of our efforts, SMRT was also runner-up for the Most Transparent Company in the Transport/Storage/Communication category at the Investors' Choice Awards 2007. At the Singapore Corporate Awards 2008, the Board of SMRT was awarded Bronze for the Best Managed Boards Award.
